Palms and Roses Bed & Breakfast was an idea of owners Donald and Jennifer Kehl back in 2003. After moving to Summerfield from central Oregon, they started work on their project. The house was finally completed in September of 2007.
Don is a native of Chicago and spent most of his adult life there before moving to southern California where he met Jenny, who was on holiday from the UK. They were married in 1997 and started life together in southern California. Don retired in 1996, and the couple bought a motor home and began traveling the US. In 1999, they built a house in central Oregon and spent summers there and winters in Mexico. After some 37 states and 3 different motor homes, they finally settled in Summerfield, Florida, and retired from the RV'ing lifestyle.
They have always enjoyed traveling, and have visited such places as Australia, Fiji, Hawaii, Europe and the Caribbean.
Jenny had owned an Inn/Bed and Breakfast called the Hollybush Hotel some years before in the UK. Palms and Roses is much smaller and more intimate, there are only 3 letting bedrooms, so everyone gets personal attention. Bonnie the dog and Baxter the cat welcome the friendly, well-behaved four-legged guests.
